Yale Computer Science Career Fair
This is the only annual event at Yale that connects computer science students directly with a diverse range of company recruiters, enabling them to start planning for the summer and considering their future prospects.
This initiative is completely student-run and, this year, we took it to the next level.
Strategies for improvement
-
We attracted 15 companies to our fair. We established new connections between Yale and Amazon and began a series of collaborative events with this brand.
-
We booked a central campus venue to maximise the number of attendees. We controlled and prepared all online registration forms for companies and students. We worked closely with Yale Career Strategy to organise professional workshops before the fair. We selected and trained our group of organizers. During the week of the event, we planned events for the companies. We organised the shipping of all the companies' merchandise.
-
We formalised our branding by developing new posters and an information booklet for attendees and companies. We created an Instagram account to promote the event and collaborated with Yale Engineering to maximise media coverage on campus. In addition, we designed T-shirts for our volunteers and were featured on the Yale Engineering Instagram account.
Final Result
500+ attendees
15 companies
A long-term relationship was established between Yale and Amazon.
